Realms of Fantasy is seeking a volunteer to help us maintain the magazine’s website. The volunteer will receive a credit on the website’s masthead, a free subscription to the magazine, and a chance to provide creative input on the magazine’s website going forward. Work would be done from home and you would be coordinating with the website’s webmaster and one of the magazine’s editors.
The volunteer will be expected to perform approximately 5-10 hours of work per month.
Responsibilities would include but not be limited to:
- Updating site content using our wordpress back end
- Creating new pages based on existing page templates
- Updating our upcoming Google powered events calendar
- Scouring the web for content of interest to the RoF community
Once every two months, the website will require certain updates to keep it current with the latest issue of the magazine. These updates will require a 24 hour turnaround time. In these instances, we will provide as much advance notice to the volunteer as possible. With most other tasks, our schedule will prove far more flexible.
Skills required:
- blogging/wordpress experience
- web literacy
- genre literacy
- take direction and give feedback in written form
- CSS and front end coding (html) experience a plus, but not necessary
