Readers of RoF may recognize the word Redgunk. It’s a little town tucked away in the deep south of the U.S., and it is filled with its own special kind of magic. William R. Eakin’s town of Redgunk appeared in RoF back in our December 1996 issue, with “The Secret of the Mummy’s Brain.” Since then, his Redgunk tales have appeared in the magazine fairly regularly, and as recently as the October 2009 issue, with “Bob and the Mermaid.”
Now there is a book collecting his Redgunk tales. Neither RoF nor any of Warren’s publishing companies have any affiliation with Redgunk Tales: Tales from the Kudzu (beyond publishing some of the stories in their original forms, of course) but since so many of Bill’s Redgunk stories have appeared in our pages, I wanted to point out this book’s existence, since there might a number of RoF readers interested in acquiring this collection for themselves.
Enjoy!
ETA: I just noticed that the site actually has a blurb from Shawna. Given how many stories she’s taken from Bill over the years, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
