ROF: October 2010 Cover & ToC

by Editor Douglas Cohen on July 25, 2010

Hi Everyone,

If you swing over to the Realms of Fantasy Facebook account, you can have a sneak peek at the October 2010 cover, which is our current icon. It is a reprint of an illustration by John Jude Palencar. Please free to post here or on the Facebook account and let us know what you think of the cover.

The ToC for this issue is as follows:

“The Fall of the Moon” by Jay Lake (get well soon, Jay!), illustration by Allen Douglas

“Saint’s-Paw” by Alan Smale, illustration by Alan M. Clark

“Middle” by Eilis O’Neal, illustration by Zelda Devon & Kurt Huggins

“Cutter in the Underverse” by Daniel Hood, illustration by John Kaiine

“Halloween: Comprising a Cautionary Acrostic of Nine Bedtime Stories for Reading to the Tiresome or Disobedient Child” by Euan Harvey, illustration by Jill Bauman

This issue’s artist gallery will profile Tiffany Prothero. In the Folkroots column, SatyrPhil Brucato wraps up his Mad, Bad & Dangerous Lovers series by discussing the Androgyne. And the usual assortment of nonfiction will also be included for your reading pleasure.

The only new author to the magazine this time around is Eilis O’Neal. All of the artists have appeared in the magazine before, though this is the first time I’ve worked with Alan, as well as Zelda & Kurt. This issue should be available in early August. Hope you all enjoy it!

As noted in the post, we expect it to be available in early August. RoF is available on major newsstands such as Barnes & Noble and Borders, though you should check with your individual newsstand to see if they’re currently carrying it.

Heya,

I subscribed to RoF on August 26th. I was wondering if I should expect to receive the Oct issue or the Dec issue as my first in the mail.

Thanks, Jessi
