The Realms of Fantasy Forums is a partially moderated forum. While we do devote some time to moderation, and will make our best effort to prevent illegal activity, ensure civility and provide a pleasant environment for users, the volume of posts prevents us from reading and approving each one. Registering for the Realms of Fantasy Forums signifies your acceptance of your personal responsibility to obey the laws referenced above, and any other laws concerning written, conversational and electronic communications.
BASIC FORUM RULES, TERMS & CONDITIONS:
Stuff that most users want to know
- Members may only maintain ONE (1) user account here. You can change your username by simply logging-in to your Profile at any time, but you cannot have more than one account.
- Valid Account Email: We require an active and valid e-mail address for our own communications, or those which you have doubly opted to receive. If we receive more than a few bounced or undeliverable emails for a particular account, that account will be removed from our systems.
- We differentiate between spam and relevant advertising or commercial links. Spam is not permitted in your posts, avatars or signatures. You may post links to your own or someone else’s books, products, stores, etc., if they are posted in the appropriate category and are relevant to the Fantasy genre and/or a specific conversation thread. If a moderator or administrator decides the link or picture you have posted is spam, it will be deleted without notice or recourse. You know the difference and so do we.
- We may move your posts. Occasionally a post you have written may be moved to a new category or sub-category, especially during times when the forums are being reorganized. When possible, you will be notified.
- Be aware of “net-iquette.” Don’t abuse the font color or size options, avoid saying things in ALL CAPS (interpreted as shouting), don’t abuse the private-messaging/email options, etc.
- When posting, either an initial post or a response, bear in mind that this is a supportive community. It is inevitable that someone, speaking passionately about something of import to you both, will offend you. We do not wish to impede open communication. But we do trust you to handle these conflicts with your best efforts at respect, kindness and courtesy.
- Please use extreme caution when revealing any personal information about yourself or others. Do not share personal details such as real names, addresses, contact information, workplaces, places you frequent, etc. Internet predators of any type may seem trustworthy, ethical, successful, etc., when they are not. Protect yourself.
- You are required to respect the copyrights, trademarks or other intellectual property protections placed on any content you wish to quote here. Do not post complete articles from other sites without the required permissions from the original author or site that owns the content. If all else fails, it is usually best to simply paraphrase or summarize an article you’ve found elsewhere, and just provide the URL to that external article in your post.
- All original content, titles, images, graphical design, logos and trademarks of this site are to be respected, as per all applicable U.S. and international intellectual property protections, and you may NOT copy any of it without our express permission.
Stuff that bad users should be aware of
- We record your IP address and other information every time you visit or post something here. An IP is the address automatically assigned to your computer by the internet every time you boot-up and connect to your internet service provider, from home, work or elsewhere. Therefore, if you commit any serious offenses (violations of applicable laws, malicious activities, or attempt to circumvent our banning mechanisms), we can and will use this information to track you down, contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider), and to assist local and/or federal law enforcement agencies in their investigations.
- Intentional name-calling and personal attacks are not allowed. Please treat all other members with respect and courtesy.
- No profanity, slander, slurs, threatening, obscene, vulgar, threatening, or explicit sexually-oriented comments or photos are permitted in your posts, avatars or signatures. This and any violation of applicable laws (U.S. and international) will be dealt with severely.
The forum management (Admin and Moderators) reserve the right to lock, edit, move, or delete any material that violates the rules or in any way disrupts the posting environment we are trying to support and preserve here.
The Realms of Fantasy Forum management (the Forum Admin and any Moderators) reserve the right to suspend or ban any member for any reason, at any time, with or without any prior warning, notification or justification. All decisions are final, and no other communication on the matter is required.
